Maintain the devices your organization makes.
The Maker workspace centers on device inventory, device-linked NFC information, maker-scoped security events, and the credentials that protect the Maker account.
Maker responsibilities
Understand associations
Review NFC credentials linked to a device without treating the Maker workspace as the physical NFC operating screen.
Protect Maker access
Monitor maker security events and maintain profile and passkey information for the organization.
Authorization boundary. A Maker manages device-domain records but does not enter Operator Device
Control. Physical NFC and Bluetooth operation requires a separately authorized Operator session.
Start or access a Maker session
- Choose Maker.From the app's home screen, open the Maker workspace.
- Register or sign in.Create the Maker profile if authorized, or sign in with an enabled account method.
- Confirm identity.Use the profile avatar to verify the active Maker before changing device records.
- Open the dashboard.The authenticated workspace exposes Devices, Security events, Passkeys, and profile access.
Work with devices
- Open Devices to retrieve inventory visible to the Maker account.
- Select a device to review its identity, descriptive data, state, and linked NFC tags.
- Use create or edit actions only for records owned by the current Maker.
- Use activation or deactivation to reflect the approved device lifecycle; verify the updated state afterward.
Record state is not tag state. Changing a backend device or NFC record does not reverse a
physical tag's cryptographic provisioning. Coordinate physical credential replacement with an Operator and your security process.
Review Maker security activity
Open Security events to review outcomes associated with Maker operations. Investigate unexpected authentication, device, credential, or lifecycle events using the event timestamp, reason, actor, and affected resource.
Escalate when
- A device appears under the wrong Maker or has unfamiliar linked credentials.
- A state change was not initiated by an approved user or process.
- A passkey or profile event references an unknown device.
- Operators report persistent NFC ownership failures for correctly assigned equipment.
Maker account security
- Keep organizational contact and profile information current.
- Register passkeys only on approved devices and credential providers.
- Remove backend and provider copies of passkeys from lost or retired devices.
- Sign out before an Operator or Administrator uses a shared phone.
- Do not share the Maker session as a shortcut for Operator or Administrator tasks.
